It may sound quite absurd to the ears of many that a mortal man can be god, son of the Almighty God. There are many scriptures that illustrates this. In Exodus 7:1 “And the LORD said unto Moses, see I have made thee a god unto Pharaoh”. Also, in Psalms 82: 6 it reads “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High”. But to make this a reality there are four things that must be in place, and they are as follows:
Regeneration:
Perhaps the first step towards manifesting godship can be seen in John 1:12 which says “ But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”. One has to believe and receive Jesus Christ to become part of God’s family. The child of a Lion is nothing less than a Lion, similarly the child of a monkey is nothing short of a monkey. Hence, the child of God is nothing less than a god. For the purpose of writing, so that one may not be confused; upper case letter “G” is used to identify the Almighty God, since He is the creator of all things.
Knowledge and understanding:
Anyone who lacks knowledge of his identity can do nothing in manifesting his “make-up”. This is what happened to John the Baptist that he was beheaded; even when the scripture had foretold: he shall be coming in the spirit and power of Elijah (see Luke 1:17). He never had understanding of that aspect of his person. All through the scriptures, no one ever harassed Elijah. Obviously, when the king sent a group of soldier with the captain to arrest him, he called fire from heaven to consume them and it was so. In Psalms 82:5-6 it reads “They know not, neither, will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most high. But ye shall die like men..”.
An eagle who lacks knowledge of her flight capabilities can never soar. Till today, many Christians who have been ordained to soar like eagles, are seen walking about like penguin, all because they couldn’t fathom their identity.
Consecration and Commissioning:
To function as god, one must devote a reasonable amount of time for sanctification. This is where the inert attributes of the most high, physically gets to manifest in the life of the devotee. Jesus in his earthly ministry made mention of sanctification and commissioning as pre-cursors to manifesting the godship. In John 10:34 “Jesus answered them. Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest…”
Many times when God sends one on a mission, He delegates His own power/ authority and makes provision for the vision (see Luke 10: 1-19). Every disciple that ever manifested the acts of God, were sent, commissioned either directly by Christ or by the Apostles.
